Cushions Galore

I have been having a lot of fun stencilling cushions recently, using either my stencil paint, or screen printing inks. I used plain cotton canvas covers in a natural colour and then grouped them together in a combination of colours and patterns

This is such a quick, easy and satisfying thing to do.

Step One:
Lay out the cushion cover on a clean smooth surface. Lightly cover the back of the stencil with a spray adhesive, then position on top of the cover smoothing down.

Step 2:
Dip the tip of a bristle stencil brush into the paint removing as much as possible. Most stencil mistakes are caused by having too much paint on the brush.
Using a gentle circular motion push the paint through the holes. Carefully remove the stencil once complete.
Step 3:
Once dry iron the cover with a hot iron to seal the paint/ink. The cover can then be washed at 40ºC.

It's really effective to use two different stencils together, or try using the same stencil but in different colours.
