Vintage Soda Crate Becomes Farmhouse Foot Stool

Are you a form-over-function or function-over-form mindset? I am the latter and that is why I have fun re-creating my flea market finds into functional decor. I've been showing you how I've repurposed my stash and this vintage soda crate turned foot stool is no different. It's fun AND functional. Come see how I did it over on the blog.

In my last post, I shared my flea market finds and said I would get back to that soda crate, and here is what I did with it. After choosing some hand-carved chair legs from my stash, I head to my saw.





My miter saw makes a quick fix to these legs that are too long for my foot stool.





Next, I drill the legs to get them ready for assembly. If you pre-drill your holes, that reduces the risk of splitting the wood.
After adding some red ticking for upholstery and reinforcing the crate, this sweet piece is ready for a new home. It's unique, rustic, and full of function. Come on over to the blog to get all the details.
